Roya is a printmaker living in Surrey. She studied fine art at Baku Fine Art University, specialising in graphic arts, and has continued to work as a freelance printmaker. She draws artistic inspiration from the beauty of life, relationships, literary works, and memories. She loves to draw and uses printmaking as her primary medium. To explore her subjects and create her art, she employs various printmaking techniques.

Her recent works often explore abstract prints depicting botanical shapes and forms of everyday objects and materials. She delves into the translucency and layering of these elements, aiming to evoke depth and complexity in her collages. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, she frequently sketches in gardens, integrating the shapes of her subjects with their surrounding shadows. When translating these sketches into prints, she introduces texture and transparency through careful selection of paper and inks. The process of creating a piece is a joyous journey for her, as she merges shapes and forms to achieve desired compositions. She typically works on multiple pieces simultaneously, allowing her fresh perspectives. Her colour choices often diverge from true-to-life representations and are influenced by memories, moods, or experiences.

Currently, she holds the position of Artist in Residence at Ochre Print Studio in Guildford for the year 2024 and has her own studio in Hersham.
