Variations on a Theme is an exhibition that invites you to explore the rich diversity of artistic expression through a shared motif. Each piece in this collection, whether an aquatint, collagraph, drypoint, etching, linocut, lithograph, monoprint, or screen print, showcases the unique perspective and technique of its creator.
Richmond Printmakers is a cooperative of professional artists based in and around Richmond-upon-Thames. We work independently and come together to exhibit our work. Our supportive approach enables us to develop our creative practices by exploring and embracing new and experimental approaches, as well as promoting and preserving the traditions of printmaking. We each bring our individual and diverse work to a wide audience through our local and national exhibitions.

Exhibiting together for the first time, Richmond Printmakers and Southbank Printmakers are a group of 25 artists. They are professional printmakers, promoting and preserving the traditions of printmaking whilst also exploring and embracing new and experimental approaches to making original prints. The practice covers a wide variety of printmaking techniques including etching, mezzotint, wood cut and engraving, linocut, screenprint, collagraph, monotype, and lithograph. This exhibition aims to show how varied and exciting printmaking can be. All the work in the exhibition is original and handprinted.

Little Prints
Little Prints, is an exhibition that invites you to explore diverse viewpoints and techniques within the captivating realm of compact and affordable printmaking.
Delight in the fusion of creativity and precision as each piece, whether it is an aquatint, collagraph, drypoint, etching, linocut, lithograph, monoprint or screenprint shows the unique perspective of each artist.
Little Prints, is a testament to the variety of approaches and skilful execution found in small-scale prints, demonstrating that art's impact transcends size. The exhibition will celebrate the myriad ways in which artists can express their visions within limited dimensions, offering a fascinating journey into the rich tapestry of perspectives and techniques in the world of printmaking.
Richmond Printmakers is a co-operative of artists based in and around Richmond-upon-Thames, working independently and coming together to show their work.

TRANSFORMATION
In this exhibition Richmond Printmakers show how a simple drawing, a scratch on a piece of metal or a concept can result in a dynamic breathtaking work of art. The end result never looks like the beginning.
The printmakers exhibit more than 100 new prints and display many of the development stages involved in creating their art. Processes include lithographs, relief prints, intaglio prints, screen prints and Book Art.
MEET THE ARTISTS

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet many of the exhibiting artists at this informal event to find out how they produce their work and how they decide on their subject matter. They will share their knowledge of the techniques and processes of printmaking and will be happy to talk through the various tools and equipment they use in the production of their work.
Ink + Paper = will show some of the many ways artists combine paper and ink to create an image including: aquatints, collagraphs, drypoints, etchings, linocuts, lithographs, monoprints and screen prints.
The art of printmaking can create striking and expressive images with strong colour and bold design, or more intricate and nuanced effects, achieving a high degree of sensitivity.
All the prints on display will offer a glimpse into the possibilities of printmaking; from simplicity and directness to delicacy and detail.
The subject-matter in the exhibition reflects the interests and preoccupations of the different artists, from landscape and figurative pieces to completely abstract works.
During the exhibition members of the Richmond Printmakers will be on hand in the gallery to demonstrate some of their processes and answer visitor’s questions.

The Dominic King show
A few of our members will be exhibiting independently at this exciting new biennial printmaking festival: Loraine Monk, Ros Pritchard, Jane Cradock-Watson,
Sue Ribbans, Buffy Kimm, Frances Kiernan, Simon Burder.
Sue Ribbans will be demonstrating Linocutting on Saturday from 10-11am.
Simon Burder will be running a Kitchen Litho demo/workshop at 11.30 on Saturday and on Sunday at 3pm he will be giving a talk on Lithography in Britain Today. Both free events included in the entry ticket.
