An etching by Candy Walker titled pink ladies

Candy Walker

Candy Walker discovered etching at Ruskin School of Drawing in the 1970s and has returned to it after many years of working with children and doing illustration projects in other media.

She works at Putney Art School and Kew Studios. She has been a member of Richmond Printmakers for 15 years, and has shown her work at many local exhibitions.

Her recent etchings are created with two metal plates. She enjoys planning how the lines and textures on one will combine with the shapes and colours on the other when they’re printed together.

Her prints tell a story, often a mysterious one, and are inspired by books, dreams, and memories.
