Etching is Buffy Kimm’s medium. In her practice, Buffy takes inspiration from the obscure and unusual, exploring both nature and architecture. Initially working through photography, she is fascinated by light and shadow and likes to experiment in her search for innovative ways to depict images that intrigue her. She aims to inspire viewers to look more carefully at their surroundings, so as to appreciate what is actually there, but which may not be obvious at first sight. Her work is detailed and sometimes playful.

Born in Portsmouth, Buffy graduated with a BA Hons in Three Dimensional Design. She started etching in 2010 and has enjoyed experimenting with the process since then.

Buffy has exhibited in the UK and abroad. Highlights include Art in Transit (Oldenburg, Germany 2014), the Crypt Gallery (London 2017 and 2019), and The National Open Exhibition (Harrogate 2015).
